If you choose 1-lb cylinders, the unit has an attachable holder to keep such bottles secured at a 35-degree angle for optimum gas flow to the 15,000-BTU, high-efficiency burner. Startup effortlessly occurs via a battery-free, single-click piezo ignitor, because complicated ignition is the last thing you need after leaving port (should issues arise, the firebox has handy access holes for manual lighting).
